About Us
The teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) extensively emphasize the virtue and elevated status of the Ahl al-Bayt (Arabic: People of the House). This sacred lineage, directly linked to the Prophet, has been blessed by Allah with numerous virtues. Understanding the profound interest within Muslim communities to delve deeper into the life and lineage of the Prophet (PBUH) and his family, the Council of the Prophets Grandchildren has undertaken a significant role.
Our primary objective at the Council is to provide comprehensive education regarding Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), his life, and his family lineage. We aspire to guide individuals on how to conduct themselves in their interactions with the lineage of the Prophet, offering insights and support from both financial and spiritual perspectives. In our mission, we are grounded in the wisdom derived from Quranic verses and authenticated Hadith, using them as guiding principles.
In an effort to facilitate a deeper understanding and connection, the Council of the Prophets Grandchildren has undertaken multiple ambitious project:
- Returning the rights of the Ahl al-Bayt. Allah has bestowed upon the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) numerous virtues. Ahl As-Sunnah wa’l-Jama`ah are unanimously agreed that it is obligatory to love them and respect their rights. Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“Similarly the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have rights which must be paid attention to. Allah has allocated to them a share of the khums and fay’”.
- We are committed to creating a digital family tree that will serve as a globally accessible resource. This meticulously verified tree will delineate all branches of the Prophet's lineage up to the present day. The intention behind this initiative is to empower communities worldwide to verify the authenticity of Ahl al-Bayt members, while also mitigating the impact of false claims that may be utilized to spread misinformation.
- Educating people on the virtues and responsibilities of the Ahl al-Bayt.
- Looking after the family of the Prophet (ﷺ) financially, physically and spiritually. The Prophet (ﷺ)wished for the Muslims to refer to his Ahl al-Bayt as a reliable, pure and inerrant source for his Sunnah. He asked for nothing but for his Ummah to love and care for his Ahl al-Bayt. "(O Muhammad) Say, 'I do not ask for any reward for this (bringing of Allah's message) except the love for the near kinship.'" (42:23)
- Establishing worldwide bases and offices to attend to the needs of the family of the prophet located worldwide. As charity is forbidden upon them due to their honourable status “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘zakah should not be given to the family of Muhammad’” (Narrated by Muslim, al-zakah, 1784). Abū Bakr (may God be please with him) said, “Guard [the honour and legacy of] Muḥammad by honouring his household.” – (Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī)
Through this comprehensive endeavour, the Council of the Prophets Grandchildren envisions contributing to a more informed and connected global Muslim community, fostering a deep appreciation for the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his noble family.
The Council of the Prophets Grandchildren are a Board of Scholars comprised of Ahl al-Bayt and advanced ulamah, overlooked by Sheikh Yehya Katab whose direct lineage goes back to the Prophet (ﷺ).
